Co-Extruded Cast films up to three layers.

The possible combinations of the layers are:

A:B:C or A:B:A

A:B or B:A

A = LDPE, EVA, HDPE, Metallocene, EVA or PP

B = LDPE, HDPE, Metallocene, EVA or  PP

C = LDPE, EVA, HDPE, Metallocene, EVA or PP

Advantages of Cast Plastic Films vs. Blown Plastic Films

  • More Uniform Film Thickness, within (+/-) 5% – The manufacturing process for blown packaging films creates some orientation (stretching) in both machine and transverse direction. The casting process has no transverse orientation with some in machine direction, resulting in a more balanced physical properties and higher clarity film needed in some packaging applications. This uniformity also resists punctures.
  • Increased Barrier Efficiency – Some packaging applications benefit from high barrier films. Cast films generally provide a better barrier against the transmission of moisture, aroma and gases.
  • Good choice high fat foods and microwaveable frozen foods.
